Evaluation Activity 2 - What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

I have decided to represent our audience feedback results using this colourful word layout  - made using Powerpoint 2007.

More Emotion - located in the footage, therefore there wasn't much more we could do.
Stop Motion - we knew that there were some bits that needed changing to correlate with the tempo of the song
Effects - added effects tend to make music videos more interesting to watch
Lip-Syncing - always crucial, especially as our video revolves around a narrative, where the male character had to sing along to the lyrics of the song
Editing - this is a much broader aspect, as it includes effects and transitions, after all the footage was gathered, we were able to start editing the footage
Blank Spaces - we did have manage to fill up the blank spaces with relevant spectacle and narrative footage before getting our second audience feeback.  Moreover, we had managed to  [see below]
Transitions - we also knew that there was some transitions that needed to be added in between some footage to enable much smoother continuity in the narrative of the 'adventureous' love story

In this representation of our second audience feedback, you can see that there was a lot less to consider and alter. Therefore, this demonstrates that we had taken care of the previous issues through the use of our rough cut audience feedback.  So, it would be fair to say that getting audience feedback is an effective way of assuring that our music video will answer to the expectations of our target audience/market.
'Drums'
As this was mentioned, we thought we would make sure that we added it to our music video, as soon as possible before reaching the final outcome and deadline.  Therefore, we took our camcorder and sent off to record this much needed piece of footage. In this way, our written feedback was beneficial as we did have a small thought of including a spectacle aspect in our main product, although it is thought to be more of a narrative.

'Lip-Syncing'
This aspect is, in my opinion, one of the most crucial aspects in a music video.  As our music video is based around a narrative story of a male character who is attempting to change his ex-girlfriends ways.

'Titles [Beginning]'
Usually in music videos - especially on MTV, titles are apparent at the start of the song, the general reason to do so is to inform the viewers the artist and name of the song; which is always an effective way of promoting and advertising.

'Emotion'
Obviously, there must have been some worries about the way the male character was expressing himself about his love for his ex-girlfriend. Maybe, it was because I was finding it difficult to act/behave like a person in that situation, therefore the effectiveness of the acting was not as good as it could have been.

In conclusion, by using this audience feedback we could focus on making sure that our music video modifications were appropriate to what had been said.  Hopefully the above points had been observed and altered correctly to the liking of the audience. Therefore, it would be fair to see that audience feedback is an effective way of learning more about where our faults rested and what could have been done for improvement.
