Animatic

Above is our animatic.
Once we had designed our storyboard, we took pictures of each individual frame using a basic digital camera.
We then imported all the photographs of the frames into “Final Cut Express” (MAC program) where we added our chosen song ('Jump' by Get Set Radio) and placed the photographs of the frames in the most ideal position in sync with the audio as preparation for the real music video.
However, although these were simple representations of our actual mind-mapped ideas, by putting all these photographs together, it will give the viewer a better understanding of what our actual music video will look like.

NEWS UPDATE: Unfortunately there has been an issue with the iMac servers and there is a significant possibility that we may not be able to bring you this video. We are sincerely sorry for this and on behalf of all the A2 Team, we will endeavour to try to restore the servers and bring you the animatic in due course.

Newsflash!: Initial filming is now complete!

It is on the 13th of October that we have finished all the initial filming that needs to be done in accordance to our original plan. Filming has gone very well and there have been very few problems.  This, in turn, significantly sped up this part of the production process of our music video, ultimately giving us more time to focus upon the next stage.

The next stage is editing the filmed footage using the Final Cut Express software on the Apple Macs. Using the element of teamwork, ideas will be gathered and discussed with our Chief Editor, Oliver Rossetti. Oliver will piece and edit the different footage together using a wide range of transitions and special effects to create the ideal brand identity of the band.

We shall endeavour to keep you posted on the development of our music video!

Location Shots

We have decided to film our Music Video in locations that can easily be related to real-life, for instance, a park setting, inside and outside a household and an alley way (to represent isolation).

Alley Way behind Stocton Road, Guildford
This location was primarily used for one of the many  Stop-Motion parts of the Music Video. Both (male and female) characters had to take a step back, being photographed at certain intervals.  These intervals were when the characters were standing still.  The photographs will then be sequenced to make it seem like the characters were moving backwards/forwards (depends on order of photographs) without actually moving a muscle.  This is how Stop Motion works.

This inside household location (television room) was chosen because it is a place where couples might spend a lot of time in. The mirror in the background could be used to create an alternative viewpoint of the characters in shot.

Sunday 9th October 2010 - Session 13

Aim of session
  • Begin Filming
  • Take location Shots
Achievments
  • We started filming in a "real life" settingfor our music video. We choose in Toms house, an alleyway, and a field. We took photos of these locations for our location shots which we posted on our blog.
